March 26, 2021 – The Pere-Marquette Rail Trail will be closed from the University Drive crossing to Northwood University’s Mullinax Acres (east of the Sugnet Road crossing) daily from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. beginning Monday, March 29 as crews perform brush removal along the trail.

The trail will reopen daily at 6 p.m. and close again the following morning at 8 a.m. through Thursday, April 1. It is anticipated that work will be completed by 6 p.m. on April 1.

Trail users may detour around the closure by using the pedestrian path at Mullinax Acres to travel south onto the Northwood campus; take Naegele Drive to Whiting Drive; then take Whiting Drive to University Avenue and re-enter the trail at the University Avenue trail crossing. See the map below for the detour route.

Due to the dangers of flying debris and high-powered equipment in use, it is critical that trail users do not disregard closure barricades and remain out of the trail closure area while work is underway.
