July 2, 2021 – Portions of Wheeler Street already under construction will close to all through traffic on Tuesday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 7 as crews perform sanitary sewer repairs on sections of roadway within the construction zone.

On Tuesday, July 6, Wheeler will be closed from Swede Avenue to Birchwood Drive. On Wednesday, July 7, Wheeler will be closed from Birchwood to Foster Road.

During these closures, both eastbound and westbound through traffic will be detoured around the construction area using Waldo Avenue, E. Ashman Street, and Swede Avenue. Wheeler will be open to two-way local traffic for those traveling to or from a destination within the construction zone.

Wheeler will reopen to eastbound traffic and remain closed to westbound traffic on Thursday, July 8, weather permitting. Motorists traveling through the construction zone should drive with caution.

The Wheeler Street reconstruction and water main replacement project is estimated to be completed in October 2021.
