July 15, 2021 – City of Midland Parks and Recreation has announced that access to Kiwassee Lake in Stratford Woods Park has reopened to the public following a temporary week-long closure due to high levels of bacteria in the water.
A water sampling retest conducted today indicated that bacteria levels in Kiwassee Lake are safe for full body contact per Michigan Water Quality Standards. People and animals can resume swimming, fishing, and wading in the lake at this time.
