[ARCHIVED] City Office, Service Hours for Thanksgiving Holiday

November 12, 2021 – Many City of Midland offices and services will be closed or operating under alternate hours on November 25 – 26 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All City offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Day). City offices will be closed on Friday, November 26; however, Dial-A-Ride will maintain normal hours on Friday, November 26*; Saturday, November 27; and Sunday, November 28. 

Residents are reminded that the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed from Monday, November 22 – Saturday, November 27 for repairs to infrastructure damaged during the May 2020 flooding event. It will reopen to regular hours on Monday, November 29.

Refuse and recycling will not be collected on Thursday, November 25 or Friday, November 26.   Residents with Thursday, November 25 refuse and Thursday Week 4 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 24.  Friday, November 26 refuse and Friday Week 4 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 29.  Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open Friday, November 26 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturday, November 28 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. November 27 will be the last Saturday morning landfill hours until April 2022.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 26, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.

*Please note: The 2021 City Calendar & Services Guide indicates that Dial-a-Ride will be closed on Friday, November 26. The calendar was printed prior to an update to holiday phone and bus service levels. Dial-A-Ride will be open on this date.
