MPD Awarded Grant for 3D Scene Scanner

January 7, 2022 - The Midland Area Community Foundation recently awarded the Midland Police Department a $65,146.00 grant from the Esther and Carl Gerstacker Education and Public Safety Endowment Fund for the purchase of a 3D Scene Scanner system.

Through the Midland Area Community Foundation’s Focus Area, “Caring for Our People,” these funds will allow the Midland Police Department to purchase a 3D Scene Scanner system, which will improve the efficiency and accuracy of crash and crime scene investigations.

This system will replace the outdated system currently in use, and will reduce road closure times, increase the quality of evidence, and will allow officers to conduct more in-depth pre-planning for critical incidents. Additionally, it will ease personnel requirements, as compared to the system currently in use.

The Midland Police Department would like to thank the Midland Area Community Foundation for its generosity and continued support.

The Midland Area Community Foundation provides philanthropic leadership to strengthen our community by fostering collaboration and giving today and in the future.
