New Service: Reserve a Borrow-A-Container Online

February 3, 2022 Disposing of extra refuse has never been easier! City of Midland residents can now reserve Borrow-A-Container dumpsters online and have a container delivered directly to their homes.

City residents can reserve a 4 foot-by-6 foot-by-4 foot (4 cubic yards) dumpster for disposing of refuse, brush, building materials, or other items. Containers are placed on the resident’s outlawn or driveway approach before 3 p.m. on the reservation date and collected early the next day. Residents can reserve a container up to four times per year at no charge.

To reserve a container online, visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/borrowacontainer and click on ‘Reserve Your Borrow-A-Container Online!’. Reservations are available Monday through Friday on a first-come, first-served basis. Containers must be reserved at least two (2) days in advance and can be reserved no earlier than 30 days in advance.

New users will be required to create an online account prior to purchasing or renewing items. Residents who have previously purchased a refuse bin or yard waste sticker, reserved a park shelter, purchased a Plymouth Park pool pass, or registered for a program through Parks and Recreation can use their existing account to reserve a container.

In addition, City residents can purchase or renew the following items online via the same system:

  • Gray 95-gallon City refuse bins
  • Blue 95-gallon City yard waste bins
  • Yearly yard waste bin stickers
  • Yard waste compost bag stickers (20-pack)
