April 29, 2022 – This summer, the MCTV Network will offer a video production camp for Midland area teens that will teach participants the ins and outs of producing audio and video projects. The 2022 MCTV Summer Video Camp will be held Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Campers will learn how to operate MCTV’s professional HD camcorders, edit video on an iMac using Final Cut Pro X, and work as crew member in a real TV studio to create a program called Studio B, a show for teens by teens. Upon completion of the camp, teens will have full access to the equipment and services that MCTV offers the public. Campers will also have the opportunity to volunteer on MCTV productions like local sporting events, community concerts, public access talk shows, and more.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Interested participants can register by calling 989-837-3474 or by visiting the MCTV offices during business hours. Cost for the video camp is $50, which covers daily snacks, a souvenir t-shirt, a pizza party, a DVD recording of the completed show, and the $25 MCTV access user membership for the year. Video Camp is open to Midland residents ages 12 – 17.

To learn more about the MCTV Network, visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/MCTV, follow MCTV on Facebook, or search for MCTV Network Community Voices on YouTube, ROKU, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or your podcast platform of choice.
