Free Financial Planning, Investment Tools at the Library

January 27, 2023 – The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library now provides patrons with access to free financial strength, financial planning, and investment rating tools, all available free of charge with their Library card.

Financial Ratings Series Online, powered by Weiss Ratings and Grey House Publishing, gives users accurate, independent ratings and financial planning tools to help make informed decisions about insurance, banking, and investment options. The tool is designed to direct users toward safe banking and insurance options and strong investments while helping to avoid unnecessary risk that could lead to financial losses.

Patrons can use these tools to do the following and more: 

  • How to find the safest bank or credit union in the area
  • How to find best the insurance companies 
  • How to select the best Medicare supplement plan and find the lowest premiums
  • How to find the best mutual funds and ensure retirement funds are safe
  • How to pick the best-performing stocks

Users can create their own personal profile to build a watchlist, get upgrade and downgrade alerts, and log in from anywhere.

To access these tools, patrons should visit www.gadml.org/research, click on Weiss Financial Ratings, and click on “Log in with your Library card” to enter their Library card number to gain access to tons of financial tools and resources at no charge.
