[ARCHIVED] Downtown Midland Presents Winter Wanderland

Ice sculptures of two penguins and a polar bear

February 13, 2023 – Stroll through a wonderland of gorgeous ice sculptures as Downtown Midland hosts its second Winter Wanderland on Saturday, February 18. Ice Guru, stars of the show Ice Brigade on Food Network, will take over the Downtown district to create ice sculptures of all shapes, sizes and interactivity.

Ice sculptures on display will include playable ice versions of popular games such as foosball, checkers, chess, shuffleboard, and cornhole, and recognizable logos from Downtown businesses.

New this year – Ice Guru will be performing a live ice carving show from 2-4 p.m. on the corner of McDonald and Main streets outside of Tri-Star Trust.

Don’t forget to grab a warm (or cold, we don’t judge) adult beverage from one of our participating Commons businesses to enjoy while you wander the sculptures. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will also be parked on McDonald Street between Main Street and Larkin Street for guests to enjoy.

The ice games and sculptures will be on display beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 and will be available for viewing throughout the day, so plan to visit them as soon as possible. Please be respectful of all of the sculptures and games to ensure they last as long as possible.

This event is made possible by sponsors Brinstar, Midland First United Methodist Church, Joyful Tantrum, Proper Taco, Serendipity Road, and Three Bridges Distillery & Taproom.

For more information about Winter Wanderland, call the Midland Downtown Development Authority at 989-837-3330 or visit www.downtownmidland.com/events/winter-wanderland.
