April 21, 2023 – The MCTV Network invites Midland-area teens to experience the world of sports broadcasting at its 2023 Sports Broadcasting Camp July 10 – 13 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Instructors will train campers on the technical aspects of video production, live sports coverage, and being on-air talent. Campers will use a variety of production equipment used in the creation of televised sports. At the end of camp, participants ill be invited to use the skills they have learned to assist MCTV staff and volunteers in producing a live broadcast of the Great Lakes Loons’ game against the Fort Wayne Tincaps on Friday, July 14 at Dow Diamond.

During camp, the MCTV Network will partner with Dow Diamond and ESPN 100.9-FM to provide tours and insight into the world of professional sports commentary, sports radio operations, and game-day video operations at ESPN 100.9-FM studio and Dow Diamond.

Cost of the camp is $50 which covers the cost of instruction, daily snacks, a souvenir t-shirt, and membership to the MCTV Network for one year. Membership allows campers to use all the equipment, facilities, and services available at Midland Community Television.

Pre-registration is required in person at the MCTV Network office, located in the lower level of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, during regular business hours. Payment is required at time of registration via cash or check payable to MCTV Network. Register early as spaces are limited.
