[ARCHIVED] Share Master Plan Input at Plymouth Park Meet Up & Eat Up

June 30, 2023 – Bring your kids’ appetite and your ideas for the future of Midland to Plymouth Park as the City of Midland hosts its next Midland City Modern pop-up planning studio.

On Thursday, July 13 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., visit Plymouth Park, 4501 Plymouth Park Drive, to share input for the Midland City Modern Master Plan during the free Meet Up and Eat Up lunch event hosted by Midland Public Schools. Meet Up and Eat Up is located at the north end of the Plymouth Pool parking lot.

There will be no formal presentations or set agendas: At this event, visitors can discuss their ideas with a City staff member, learn about the progress completed on the new Master Plan, and participate in fun, thoughtful feedback activities. This is a great opportunity for those who live, work, or play in this area of the city to get involved with the Master Plan update!

The Midland City Modern Master Plan is anticipated to be completed later this year.

“The key to a successful, inclusive Master Plan that is representative of the entire community’s future vision is public input,” said Director of Planning and Community Development Jacob Kain. “By visiting popular community gathering spaces such as local watering holes, coffee shops, and social amenities, we can meet people where they are and have meaningful two-way conversations.”

The City’s Master Plan serves as the City’s official policy guide and strategy for community improvements and development over the next 30 years. Master plans help maintain a consistent vision in cities while directing redevelopment and change, increasing livability and neighborhoods, and transforming it into a more sustainable, innovative, accessible, attractive, and economically vibrant community. The City’s last comprehensive master planning process took place in 2005 – 2006.
