July 21, 2023 – Residents and visitors are invited to play a vital part in shaping the future vision of Downtown Midland as the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) begins developing its latest strategic plan.

Downtown Midland’s Strategic Plan is the guiding document used by the City of Midland and the DDA to ensure that projects and programs offered by the district further Downtown Midland’s mission to foster a dynamic downtown environment that promotes economic growth and social interaction. The current strategic plan calls for improving the economic sustainability of the district, enhancing social interaction opportunities, and developing critical infrastructure.

In the survey, respondents can weigh in on a number of topics critical to the success of a downtown district; share their experiences with parking, transportation, and amenities; and provide their ideas for additional future improvements to events and programming, economic development, transportation, housing, public services, aesthetics, art, and more.

The survey can be accessed via the homepage of the Downtown Midland website, www.downtownmidland.com. City staff and consultants from community planning firm McKenna will also visit the Larkin Beer Garden on Thursday, August 3 from 5 – 7 p.m. to collect in-person input for the plan. The Larkin Beer Garden is located at 233 E. Larkin Street.

Once completed, feedback will be shared with the DDA and community to help develop Downtown Midland’s next long range strategic plan.
