June 12, 2015 – As a precautionary measure, water service customers in Larkin and Mills townships should continue to boil water to be used for drinking or cooking following a water main break Thursday in Larkin Township. City crews have completed flushing the water system near the broken main, and are now conducting tests for possible contamination of the water.
Until further notice, water should be boiled for at least five minutes, and allowed to cool in a covered container. Bottled water may be used as an alternative to boiling.
Test results should be available by Noon on Saturday. If testing shows no contaminants, the boil water notice will be lifted.
