September 15, 2023 – As the community comes together to celebrate Midland Neighboring Week September 24 – 30 several City of Midland departments invite residents to join in on the fun with several family-friendly, free activities and events.

Experience our community in a fun way – and win prizes! – as Midland Parks and Recreation invites residents on a Neighbor Chase scavenger hunt from September 25 – October 8. Sleuths can download the free Eventzee app (use code mprneighbor23) on a mobile device to receive their instructions and participate in photo, video, quiz, and GPS-related challenges and more! All participants who complete the scavenger hunt will receive a prize. For more information, visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/hunt.

On Wednesday, September 27, visit the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library from 5:30 – 7 p.m. for a unique event: Floats with Goats! Enjoy Faygo floats created by celebrity scoopers, as well as a petting zoo, yard games, and fun for the family. Cones of animal feed will be available to purchase for $1 and carrots will be available for $3 (cash only, please). Food trucks will also be on hand with food for purchase. Sponsored by Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics of Midland and Cottage Creamery.

Midland Police Department will host a free family movie night at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Auditorium on Friday, September 29 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and registration is not required. Popcorn will be provided courtesy of Early Head Start at Mid-Michigan Community Action. The movie title can’t be advertised due to copyright laws, but here’s a hint: An unlikely animal friendship leads to the uncovering of a citywide conspiracy! Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate in support of the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry.
