October 27, 2023 – The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library now offers a support group for Alzheimer's and Dementia caregivers. This free support group meets in the Library’s Community Room two times per month and provides caregivers with emotional, educational, and social support and encouragement as they take on the demanding task of caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
The group is led by an Alzheimer's Association Support Group Facilitator and provides a forum for caregivers to share feelings, needs, and concerns in a confidential, safe, and supportive atmosphere. Caregivers are encouraged to attend alone so that they can be open and honest about their personal experiences.
The current scheduled meeting dates are November 2, November 16, December 7, and December 21. Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are always welcome. To register, please visit the Library’s Event Calendar online at gadml.librarycalendar.com or call the Reference Desk at 989-837-3449.
