[ARCHIVED] Classical Guitar Benefit Event for Friends of the Library

November 3, 2023 – Enjoy classical guitar music courtesy of the Mid-Michigan Classical Guitar Society in a concert to benefit the Friends of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library! The concert will take place in the Library Auditorium on Saturday, November 11, at 1:30 p.m. Donations for entry are encouraged and appreciated, but the concert is free to attend. Registration is not required.

The Friends of the Library provide vital funding to the Library’s programs and services. The Summer Reading Program, Battle of the Books, the indoor playscape in Youth Services, and laptops for public computer classes are just a few of the ways the Friends help to support the Library.

"Friends of the Library donations are invaluable to the Library,” said Library Director Miriam Andrus. “Friends’ donations allow the Library to continue providing amazing services while also providing financial support to innovate new ideas. When staff plan new programs, we know that the Friends of the Library are available should we develop a new service for which there are no funds. Having the Friends of the Library at Grace A. Dow Memorial Library allows staff to purchase materials, create exciting new programs, and host events that community members of all ages can enjoy.”

Be sure to follow the Mid-Michigan Classical Guitar Society on Facebook to see all of their upcoming events. To learn more about the Friends of the Library, please visit
