[ARCHIVED] City Office, Service Hours for Thanksgiving Holiday

November 17, 2023 – Many City of Midland offices and services will be closed or operating under alternate hours November 23 – 24 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. 

All City offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving Day). City offices and most services will remain closed on Friday, November 24. 

Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) and the Midland Civic Arena will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but both will maintain normal service hours on Friday, November 24; Saturday, November 25; and Sunday, November 26. 

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22 and will be remain closed Thursday, November 23 through Sunday, November 26. It will reopen to regular hours on Monday, November 27. Account access and electronic resources are available 24/7 through the Library app “myLIBRO” or online through the Library catalog, which can be accessed at www.gadml.org

Refuse and recycling will not be collected on Thursday, November 23 or Friday, November 23. Residents with Thursday, November 23 refuse and Thursday Week 3 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 22.  Friday, November 24 refuse and Friday Week 3 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 27.  Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection. 

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.  

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 24, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
