[ARCHIVED] Are You Brave Enough to be “Fast Food?”

August 14, 2015 – The Midland Parks and Recreation Department will partner with the ROCK Center for Youth Development to offer Midland’s second annual 5K Zombie Trail Run/Walk in City Forest.

The 5K Zombie Run will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Midland City Forest. Races begin at 3:30 p.m. Participants have two running options: (1) choose to run the race normally; or (2) run with flag football flags that represent vital organs, and try to make it out alive! But here’s the catch…there are teenage zombies in the forest. Volunteer teens will roam the forest in herds in hopes of munching on unwilling participants.

Registration is going on now for this exciting event. Space is limited, so register early. The cost for this event is $25 until September 18 and $35 beginning on September 19. Registration will take place at the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Office, 4811 N. Saginaw Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/zombierun. Racers will receive a high-performance shirt and a special token depending on their fate in the race for their participation.

Questions may be directed to the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Department by calling 989-837-6930 or e-mailing the office at recreation@midland-mi.org.
