[ARCHIVED] Ashman and Washington Construction Beginning Monday

May 16, 2014 – On Monday, May 19, crews will begin street reconstruction activities on East Ashman Street from Cambridge to Swede, and on Washington Street from East Ashman to Eastlawn.

Work will be performed on the south side of Ashman and on the east side of Washington. East Ashman will be closed to eastbound traffic, but one lane will remain open for westbound motorists. Washington Street will be closed to northbound traffic but remain open for one-way traffic traveling south. Following this portion of the project, traffic patterns will be reversed. Detours will be posted routing motorists around the area.

Work is expected to be completed by mid-July.

With the 2014 construction season now underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org. Motorists may also check the construction updates page on the City’s website for construction details.

For questions or further information regarding the project, contact the City’s Engineering Department at 989-837-3348.
