[ARCHIVED] City Office Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday

November 20, 2015 - All City of Midland offices will be closed on November 26 and 27 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Refuse and recyclables will not be collected on Thursday, November 26 or Friday, November 27. Residents with Thursday, November 26 refuse and Week 4 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 25. Friday, November 27 refuse and Week 4 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 30. Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The landfill will be open Friday, November 27 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, November 28, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. November 28 will be the last Saturday morning landfill hours until March 2016.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Library will close early, at 5 p.m., both Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27. Regular hours will be maintained for the rest of the weekend.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation System (DART) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 27. DART will maintain normal Saturday hours.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 27, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
