[ARCHIVED] Fall Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Season Ending

With winter weather now upon us, it’s time to bring out the snow shovels. It’s also time to wrap up yard waste collection for the year.

Bulk leaf collection within the city of Midland will be completed next week, and yard waste collection in bins and kraft paper compost bags will continue until Friday, December 11.

Residents who wish to dispose of any remaining leaves or yard waste should place them in kraft paper compost bags or City of Midland yard waste bins and set them at the curb on your refuse collection day. In addition, any leaves remaining in the street need to be placed in compost bags or bins and set out on your refuse collection day. The 40-cent yard waste collection stickers are not required for the remainder of the 2015 collection season. Please note that if yard waste becomes frozen in a bin it cannot be emptied by City equipment. Residents may want to consider keeping yard waste bins in their garage if possible to help prevent freezing.

The City will resume yard waste collection the first Monday in April 2016.
