January 8, 2016 – A reading competition and Jack Lemmon are the focus of two unique programs coming up at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library.
Registration has begun for teams and individuals who want to participate in the Battle of the Books for Adults. The Battle will take place on Saturday, April 16. This fun competition requires contestants to read five specific books before the battle. The list is available at the Library or on the Library’s website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library. The cost to register is $10 per person. The deadline is March 7.
Classic movies featuring the actor Jack Lemmon will be shown in the Library’s auditorium at 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month through March starting on January 12. The first feature is “Some Like It Hot.” There’s no cost to attend.
