[ARCHIVED] City Construction Projects Planned for Spring and Summer 2016

January 29, 2016 - The City of Midland Engineering Department is ramping up for a busy 2016 spring and summer, with various construction projects planned for roadways in Midland. A complete list of projects, including estimated start and completion dates, is provided below.

High traffic streets scheduled to undergo reconstruction include N. Saginaw Road from Eastman Avenue to Tucker Street, and W. Main Street from Jerome Street to Post Street. The City anticipates street and lane closures during projects, and detours will be posted if necessary.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will perform bridge overpass rehabilitation activities on US-10 and the US-10 /M-20 Business route. The US-10 overpasses that will see construction activities are E. Ashman Street and Eastman, Jefferson, and Waldo avenues. The US-10/M-20 Business route overpasses that will see construction activities are S. Saginaw Road and Waldo Avenue. It is anticipated that lane closures and detours will be required to perform this work. Work will begin in May and conclude in October.

Street construction activities will also take place at several other locations: Woodlawn Street, Sandy Ridge Court, Leonard Lane, Rosemary Court, Blarney Lane, Leeway Drive, Noeske Street, Harrison Street, Princeton Court, Ohio Street, and Ottawa Street. General work includes curb replacement, sidewalk repairs, sidewalk ramp replacements, and street paving activities.

A current list of City projects and their estimated start and completion dates can be found on the construction updates page on the City’s website (www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/ConstructionProgress).
