[ARCHIVED] Beach Volleyball Serves Up Summertime Fun

March 31, 2016 – Midland Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting beach volleyball team registrations for the 2016 summer season on Monday, April 4.

Midland Parks and Recreation’s beach volleyball leagues will begin on Monday, June 6. New this year, the league will be a ten-week season, which includes a league tournament at the end of eight games of regular season play. Games will be played at Stratford Woods Park, Monday through Thursday with games occurring between 6 – 8:30 p.m. Teams will only play on the night of their choosing. There will be no games played the week of July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. For in-depth information on league offerings, visit our website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/beachvolleyball.

Registration is first-come, first-serve and leagues will fill. Players can register online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/beachvolleyball (with no convenience fee) or in person at the Parks and Recreation Office. Teams with the minimum number of players must be registered no later than Friday, May 13 (online or in person). Teams not having the minimum number of players may forfeit their first game. Additional players can sign up anytime throughout the season but must be registered before they play. Individuals who wish to play but do not have a team can contact the Parks and Recreation Office to be placed on a wait list.

For additional information or assistance, call the Parks and Recreation Office, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 989-837-6930 or email them at recreation@midland-mi.org.
