May 13, 2016 – Midland motorists will want to plan routes accordingly as the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) gears up to begin work in July on three US-10 bridges and overpasses at Eastman Avenue, Jefferson Avenue and Waldo Road.
Work on these highly-travelled bridges will begin by July and be completed at the end of August. Lane closures are expected in all locations. The Jefferson Avenue overpass work will be most disruptive to traffic with a detour planned for that location. The Jefferson Avenue overpass will be closed to traffic from July 6 through 19 and an additional short closure in August.
MDOT bridge and overpass maintenance projects this spring and summer include substructure repairs, deck patching and epoxy overlay activities occurring at each location.Earlier this month, MDOT began similar work at
- US10 BR/M-20 Bridge at Waldo Avenue- US10 BR/M-20 Bridge at Saginaw Road
- US10 overpass at E. Ashman StreetAll three of these locations also have ongoing lane closures both on the highway and the local roadway. These projects are expected to be completed in early July. One detour is currently in effect at the Waldo Road/James Savage on-ramp for eastbound US10 BR/M-20. That traffic is being detoured west to the on-ramp on James Savage just east of Saginaw Road. Detours are not anticipated for the other two locations.
