[ARCHIVED] “Jazz Up” Your Summer with Walk Midland

May 20, 2016 – Take a step towards better health with the annual Walk Midland program.

Walk Midland hosts two-mile walks at various locations in Midland. Walks are free of charge and take place on Mondays at City Forest (meet at the trail head); Tuesdays at Stratford Park (meet near the beach volleyball courts); Wednesdays at Chippewa Nature Center (meet at the pavilion); Thursdays at MidMichigan Heath Wellness Trail (take Orchard Drive to McCandless; meet at the corner of McCandless Drive and Wellness Drive); and Sundays at the Tridge/Farmers Market area. The program starts on Monday, June 6.

All walks begin at 6 p.m. with representatives from sponsoring organizations leading the walks.

Each time walkers participate, they will be registered in a drawing for a free t-shirt. In addition, there will be a drawing on Thursday, July 28 for a grand prize trip for two to the Jazzy Walk Weekend at Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel over the Labor Day weekend, which includes a walk across the Mackinac Bridge during the Governor’s Walk.

Walk Michigan is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, Chippewa Nature Center, and MidMichigan Health.
