[ARCHIVED] City of Midland Plans 4th of July Celebrations

City of Midland Parks and Recreation Plans Fourth of July Celebrations

June 24, 2016 – Enjoy July 4th festivities, but leave the fireworks to us! Join the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Department as it produces the area’s greatest display of fireworks and entertainment. New in 2016, residents can expect an even bigger and more dazzling display of fireworks!

This year’s Fourth of July celebration will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with Ray Kamalay and His Red Hot Peppers playing your favorite jazz standards. At 8:00 p.m., take a psychedelic ride back to 1967’s Haight-Ashbury District with Magic Bus and celebrate peace, love, and rock and roll until the highlight of the night!

At dusk, you can expect the crown jewel of the evening – the annual Fourth of July fireworks, which can be viewed from Emerson Park, Currie Municipal Golf Course, and Chippewassee Park near the Tridge. In addition to the fireworks, vendors will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages and bounce houses will be on site to keep the kids entertained. Bring your friends, family, and your lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer.

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in city parks. As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event. Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.
