August 12, 2016 – Take your best shot – it could end up in the 2017 City of Midland calendar! Residents are invited to participate in the City’s annual Community Photo Contest beginning Monday, August 15, 2016. As in previous years, the City will select and use color photos submitted by amateur photographers to illustrate the pages of the annual calendar and services guide.
Photos should feature Midland events, people at work or play in our community, and scenic or historic places around town. Photos from all four seasons are welcome. A maximum of two (2) photos per person will be accepted. Submitted photos should be no more than three years old and should depict people, places, or events located within the City of Midland. Calendar photos will be selected based on originality, creativity, and quality of reproduction. All photo entries received for the contest become the property of the City of Midland and may be used in future City communications, including print and digital media.
Photos may be submitted online via the City’s 2017 Community Photo Contest website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/citycalendar or by mail to Midland City Hall, Attention: City Manager’s Office, 333 W. Ellsworth Street, Midland, MI 48640. Entry forms for mail submissions can be found at Midland City Hall and the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library.
Both print and digital entries will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Photographers whose work is selected for the calendar will be notified by mail in November.
Residents should expect to receive their 2017 City Calendar and Services Guide in their mailboxes by early December 2016.
