[ARCHIVED] Surface Treatment Program Begins Final Stages August 18

August 17, 2016 – Crews have completed the initial phase of this year's Surface Treatment Program and plan to begin applying a fog seal to several residential streets on Thursday, August 18. The fog seal, which involves spraying a light coat of oil on the road surface, takes about an hour to cure effectively.

Crews will apply the seal to Dublin Avenue, Stark Road, Airport Road, Perrine Road, Letts Street, and Sturgeon Avenue on August 18. During the seal application, traffic on these streets will be reduced to one lane for about two hours as the material is applied to one lane at a time. Motorists may wish to find alternate routes during this time to avoid congestion and delays.

This process is highly weather dependent and schedules may change with rain or the threat of rain. Updates will also be shared on the City of Midland Construction Facebook page at www.facebook.com/midlandconstruction and on Twitter at @CityofMidlandMI.
