Grant Murschel was hired as the City’s Community Development Planner in July 2013 and was promoted to Director of Planning and Community Development in October 2017. He also serves as the staff liaison to the City’s Planning Commission, Housing Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals. Prior to his role with the City, Murschel worked in both Kochville Township and Tittabawassee Township governments in Saginaw County.
Grant is also involved in a variety of organizations in the Midland community, including the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals (MYPros), Midland County Continuum of Care, Momentum Midland Action Committee, Midland County Habitat for Humanity, Midland Area Community Foundation, and Mid-Century Modern Midland.
He holds a master’s degree in public administration from American Public University, a bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems and planning from Montana State University-Bozeman
